[Spoilers] Game of Thrones

Plenty of time has passed now for people to have seen the recent episodes. I have not watched them personally but I am aware of the things that have happened. I am also currently catching up with the books.

How do you guys want to talk about this are show spoilers allowed? Are Book spoilers allowed?
I think that we should not mention anything that has happened in the books that has not happened yet in the show but i do think we should be able to discuss the differences between the TV show and the books.That sound ok to you guys?
Arya
First thing that I noticed that was quite different was how Arya gets blinded. I’m only bring this up first as the chapter where she gets blinded was the last one I read.I might mess some details up here as I have not actually seen the episode but read and heard what happened. Arya kills Meryn Trant instead of killing someone else that was supposed to. She gets blinded as punishment?
In the book Arya is working for some people at the docks selling cockles and mussels as part of her training to become a disciple to the many faced god. She was told to do this by the kindly old man (a priest from the house of black and white). While selling her produce in a brothel she spots someone from the knights watch, Dareon. Dareon came to bravos with Sam Tarly, Gilly and Maestor Aemon. Arya leaves the brothel with Dareon and she is pretty mad that he has dishonoured his vows and deserted and kills him. She takes his boots back to the kindly old man and says that she needs some boots. The man asks here where she got them from and she tells him that Arya killed a man for them, she thinks she is going to get punished but the kindly old man offers her some milk. She drinks the milk and then goes to bed. When she wakes up she is blind.
As you can see the book and tv show can vary quite a lot. I think from the last season the TV show is becoming another story in its own, heavily based off the books.

The TV show is becoming a different story, but will have the same ending as the books. I believe the producers announced that. I’m perfectly fine with any spoilers :+1:

I’m pretty sure that the blindness thing will turn out to be part of the training.
Since I’m pretty sure at some point the many faced god guy said she wasn’t ready to be no-one, to have no eyes, no ears, no mouth, etc. But that she was ready to be someone else.
Way more important to discuss is the whole Jon Snow thing, whether he’s coming back or not. I was sure from the books that he was and end of show seemed to show that too, what with red woman deciding to return to Castle Black just in time and also his eyes turning a bit bluer and stuff like that. Plus I thought there was a big deal with him being way more important than he thinks; either because of his bloodline or with him being the champion that red woman was looking for.
Also important to discuss, who do you guys think has the best rack in the show? That sandsnake chick was pretty nice but I think red woman still wins.

Personally, I hope that Jon Snow becomes really high up in the White Walker army.
Then the whole series ends with White Walker Jon Snow vs Dany.

I’m sure Mellisandre will bring back Jon Snow, I havent even got that far in the books yet but I have been told she is pretty close when he gets shanked. Berric Dondarion gets revived a lot and they both worship the same god. Seems like its leading up to an all new Jon Snow (Azor Ahai?)
Its kinda weird that Sansa gets married to Ramsay as in the book its someone who looks a bit like Arya, Tywin sends Jayne Poole to marry Ramsay. So they can sort of have a claim to Winterfell.

Meryn Trant is the person Arya kills
Dareon is not on the TV show, his death is replaced by Meryn Trant.Maestor Aemon is dead yes but he dies at different times. TV show he dies at castle black? Book her dies in Bravos.
Mellisandre is the red woman with a pretty nice set of tits, i’m sure it is said in the TV show.
Berric Dondarion is the person The Hound fights in the cave while he is with Arya, they guy sets his sword on fire. The Hound kills him but is brought back to life by Thoros of Myr. This happens in the TV show and the books.
Azor Ahai is also mention in both, Stannis is supposed to be Azor Ahai reborn. Well according to Mellisandre but she is sketchy as fuck.
Jayne Pool might be in the TV show, she is one of Sansa’s friends when she is in Kings Landing.

I also realized they didn’t burn Jon Snow’s body, so won’t he become a zombie?

@GoaNy Firelady is going to revive him probs, but I hope so.
EDIT: Or they’re going to try to burn him and find out that he can’t be burned ;)
