[Spoilers?]Star wars
-
I went to see Star Wars last night. I went in not expecting much and I am glad I did.
I found the film to be slightly cheesy and the acting wasn’t the best.It was pretty average, not good but not bad. You can tell it was made for younger people but I guess that’s the whole Disney thing rubbing off on it.
One thing that stuck in my head though was that the story was extremely similar to A New Hope.
And fuck me is Kylo Ren emo as fuck

Did not expect that face under that mask. Looked like he walked straight out of Disney XD.

Was a good entertainment but a SHITTY star wars.
I laughed it off when I saw how the republic got wiped in 5 seconds… BULLSHIT
Kylo Ren was the worst. I swear I couldn’t remember his name at the end of the movie.
He looks like the cliche of what we call a “bobo” here. They couldn’t choose any actor with less charism… like he would have been better off keeping his helmet on his damn head. I wish they did put much more time into how finn went from a dumb clone to a rebel.
The only thing I somewhat liked was when BB-8 was talking with finn in the falcon. It was kinda funny.
Anyway… I thought hating star wars was a trend but it’s literally a disaster. -
Definitely spoilers:
I was really hoping they would differentiate it from A New Hope by not destroying the weapon thing. Also +1 on all the Kylo Ren comments here (although, I’m fine if he just keeps his damn helment on).

The same could be said about A New Hope TBH.> You can tell it was made for younger people
Other than Kylo Ren, what gave you that impression?@theDaftDev

Yeah, that bothered me too. He went from freaking out about war to killing the only people he’s ever known wayyyyy too quickely.Overall, I thought it was a pretty solid addition. For me, enjoying star wars has always been about the universe and individual moments; all the films have story issues and over acting, but I like the overall idea.

I agree that they could’ve spent more time on fleshing out Finn’s deal. Especially in the beginning I felt like they just kept jumping from action sequence to action sequence without much story or explanation in between.
-
I don’t know. It just seemed to be really cheesey like the conversations between the characters never seemed to have any detail to them.
They seemed to be the basic, minimal conversation so everyone could understand. Even a 5 year old. Also they all seemed to have some “comedy” moments.
I suppose I was expecting a slightly more serious film.
