Buying a Monitor
-
So, as some of you may know I bought a new rig to join the PC Master Race, but I have run into a problem. It appears that I cannot upload HD 1080p videos because my native resolution is 1680 x 1050. Wot. I am in dire need of a 1920 x 1080 monitor, but I have no idea what to look for when purchasing a monitor.
Your help would be much appreciated.

I bought a new rig to join the PC Master Race
And yet you’re looking at 1920x1080 instead of 4k :P
I’m not too well versed with monitors, but my Asus 24" from ~3 years back is nice. Ran me $250, 1920x1080, 5ms response time.
Since you’re looking to game, you might want a faster response.
I’ve also heard countless people argue that they can see the difference between 60hz and 120hz but I’m not convinced it’s anything more than a vague impression. I guess I’m not sure if this is still an argument people have or whether it’s that much more expensive for a 120hz monitor, but if it is, I wouldn’t go for it.
