Server Upgrade

Our server is hosted by OVH / Kimsufi. The Kimsufi part of OVH changed their pricing plans for their cheap dedicated servers a few months ago. I didn’t check the prices until recently and realised I was paying way more than what they are selling the servers for at the moment.
Current Server Specs
- Atom™ N2800
- 2 cores / 4 threads
- 1.8GHz
- 2GB RAM
- 500GB HDD
- 100Mbps
For a couple of pounds more I have decided to upgrade the server.
New Server Specs
- i3 - 2130
- 2 cores / 4 threads
- 3.4GHz
- 8GB RAM
- 1TB HDD
- 100Mbps
This upgrade should hopefully help with the speed of rebooting NodeBB as our current server seems to take its time when minifying the Javascript. It will also give us a lot more room and speed for any future projects.

Server upgrade has been completed. I am just waiting for DNS changes to propagate and then we should be up and running as normal.
We are also on the latest version of NodeBB. I have noticed some issues with the forum “Restart” function but other than that everything seems to be working correctly. The migration has taken me just under 2 hours and we have experienced zero down time.Pretty cool eh?
It’s time for a cup of Tea and then on to install my Ghost blog.
