After recently upgrading my ROM from CyanogenMod to Android Revolution HD I have been getting an intermittent issue with sound during calls.

Every now and then when someone calls me or I call someone there is no dial tone, ringing tone or any sound at all coming through. I’m not sure if the person at the other end is receiving any sound either.

I’m hoping its an out of date radio or kernal. I have just installed a kernal to see if it will make an difference.

Can anyone suggest anything else that could cause this problem?

Are other people on that ROM having sound issues?

From my experience, sound/network issues are a sign of an imperfect ROM, so sadly my only suggestion is to use a different one.

Everyone else in the thread seems to be fine, it worked on the older version but i know they have upgraded to the latest SenseUI and i have read that this may need a kernal upgrade.

I have found a kernal, installed it and calls seem to work fine now but that may have been because of the reboot I did.

I’ll need to test it for a couple days to find out.

            Just a little update.

Last night i found out that I needed to install a new firmware because otherwise you can receive the exact same problem.

I installed CM instead and now it works perfect.

I could have made the Android Revolution HD work but i was lazy and let the new CM installer do everything for me, rather than typing commands and installing ROMs through the recovery.

I did forget to backup my phone though which was silly :(

Don’t worry. We’ve got that documented.

              lol

P.S. The story is backed up better than your phone! :P
