Interstellar

No spoilers incoming:
Best movie I’ve watched in a while, made me tear up at some parts. Definitely a must see! Made me feel my full range of emotion, didn’t think I was that sensitive! What do y’all think about the movie?!
-
You should talk to @Scuzz. He’s been raving about that movie.
I’m hoping to see it at the Air and Space Museum either this weekend or next week!
-
@Almost you’re going to shit your pants, I promise.
-
@Leo Dat jump scene. I knew it was coming the second time i saw the film and i still shit myself.
-
I read an article describing the first draft of the script that had Spielberg directing it, @Scuzz it would have been terrible!
-
@Leo My mate told me that he was supposed to have directed it. I think it would have been a complete different film if he had done so.
I tried to not watch an trailers for Interstellar. Trailers sometimes contain spoilers or set the film up to be something completely different to what it is. I saw a couple when it was first announced and then a few when they came out but I really didn’t remember them.
I knew Christopher Nolan can make great films (Batman Trilogy, Memento, Inception, The Prestige) so I knew that Interstellar would be another great film.
The actor choice was pretty spot on too. Matthew Mcconaughey has come from being a shitty romcom actor to being fucking amazing. His performance in True Detective was great and even in some of his lesser known films he pulls of top notch performances. I still haven’t seen Dallas Buyers Club but it is on the top of my list on films to see. Matthew Mcconaughey pulls off another awesome performance in Interstellar.
The film manages to create some of the most tense scenes I have experienced. The film basically gets your heart racing and makes you all sweaty and then for a split second it relieves you of all that built up tension only to throw you back into another scene that makes your heart beat even faster and your body even more sweaty. Without any spoilers, half way-ish through the film there are a series of scenes that are amazing and at the very end of them you get to relax a little. I felt that relieved I wanted to let out a little cheer.
One point during the sequences of scenes there is a little jump scar that you expect and know its coming but you dont know when. And when it does come it makes you fucking jump. I accidentally let out a loud “FUCK”. I went to see it for the second time a couple days later and it still made me jump. The robots deserve a mention too, they add some slight humour and extra characters. I don’t think the film would have been the same without them.
I would recommend anyone to go and see Interstellar, especially in IMAX. The only downside is that I wont get to experience the film again for the first time.

Yeah @Scuzz, I watched it in IMAX 70mm at Lincoln Center (NYC) it was amazing! Since it was my second time around it was of course not as mind blowing, but it still had me emotional by the end of it.

All my concept artists friends wet themselves over the robot designs, and were trying to find the artist/designer responsible. Apparently though it was Nolan who came up with them, which makes me respect him a bit more. KitKat robots are even better than that Star Wars FIFAbot.
