Do you miss PSP?
-
@Scuzz Yes, I know. It’s posted in introduction, isn’t it? :v
-
Yeah we all miss the psp but that ship has sailed now we need to breathe deep and step forward and not get tangled down by the past

No, no, no! I refuse! I’m going to kill PSVita so PSP will come back!
-
Swim against that current all you like you’re so far from being a salmon that psvita really hasn’t anything to worry about
Even if you were a salmon still wouldn’t be anything to worry about cuz you’d be eaten~

I dont know anyone who has a PSVita and I only knew a few people irl that had a PSP.
The only reason why i used mine so much was because of the hacking.I think if OHG didn’t exist then I would have stopped using my PSP way before. It had a few good games at the start but after that it just died out. I’m surprised they even made the Vita.
-
When I get time, I’m still playing a backlog of RPGs on my PSP, aaand maybe time to time I’ll hack myself some extra cash in 'em. :P
The PSVita has a few good games, but with the way Sony is going, it’s like they don’t even care that much about it anymore. It’s PS4 or nothing now, PlayStation-wise.
-
Yeah i have ps vita and it was going strong till last 9 months or so then it kinda died as sony has begun to place majority of its current focus on ps4
-
It’s hard to sell a dedicated handheld in the age of the phone.
-
I find that playing games on my phone quite difficult. I find that only a select few games work well with a touch screen.
I guess they could create a game phone bundle that comes with a pad or some type of game adaptor controller.
Nothing beats a pad or a mouse and keyboard for games. Touch screen just doesn’t cut it.
-
Though I still play PSP games on my android tablet and on my computer.
-
Of all things , Sony did infact release a new firmware for the psp not so long ago. I think it was 3 or so months ago?
Pretty sure sony is already listing the vita as legacy hardware now. I probably would have gotten one if it wasn’t for the fact that they used a really expensive proprietary storage medium. -
-
That was only a “.1”… Not enough. Sony still killed PSP.
-
-
Honestly, our progression in current tech is what killed the psp, it was outdated. Sony attempted to make a new handheld, psvita, to replace the PSP, but sadly the lack of AAA games is killing/killed the vita.
-
The only reason I would pick up a Vita would be for the Uncharted games. Same reason I would buy a PS4, for the next Uncharted.
-
Then why don’t they allow emulation of PSP games on PSVita? Then it will be amazing, instead of hacking it to play PSP games.

Ps vita currently plays 85% of all psp games at least as far as digital copies goes
Same goes for psx games
So by that point your point is rather…dulled…
-
Its also the way you hack the PSVita, by hacking the PSP sandbox thingy. It wont give you a fully hacked custom firmware on the Vita but it will allow you to run PSP homebrew.
Half-Byte Loader i think its called.

@Firelad
.1 or not, it was still a software update to a platform that has not seen a update for about what 3 years prior to that. Even if it was for the fact that it was for a psn game.Outside of that it did nothing else. Wasn’t a security update or anything because there just isn’t a reason for it.
