Do you miss PSP?
-
Yeah i have ps vita and it was going strong till last 9 months or so then it kinda died as sony has begun to place majority of its current focus on ps4
-
It’s hard to sell a dedicated handheld in the age of the phone.
-
I find that playing games on my phone quite difficult. I find that only a select few games work well with a touch screen.
I guess they could create a game phone bundle that comes with a pad or some type of game adaptor controller.
Nothing beats a pad or a mouse and keyboard for games. Touch screen just doesn’t cut it.
-
Though I still play PSP games on my android tablet and on my computer.
-
Of all things , Sony did infact release a new firmware for the psp not so long ago. I think it was 3 or so months ago?
Pretty sure sony is already listing the vita as legacy hardware now. I probably would have gotten one if it wasn’t for the fact that they used a really expensive proprietary storage medium. -
-
That was only a “.1”… Not enough. Sony still killed PSP.
-
-
Honestly, our progression in current tech is what killed the psp, it was outdated. Sony attempted to make a new handheld, psvita, to replace the PSP, but sadly the lack of AAA games is killing/killed the vita.

The only reason I would pick up a Vita would be for the Uncharted games. Same reason I would buy a PS4, for the next Uncharted.

Then why don’t they allow emulation of PSP games on PSVita? Then it will be amazing, instead of hacking it to play PSP games.

Ps vita currently plays 85% of all psp games at least as far as digital copies goes
Same goes for psx games
So by that point your point is rather…dulled…

Its also the way you hack the PSVita, by hacking the PSP sandbox thingy. It wont give you a fully hacked custom firmware on the Vita but it will allow you to run PSP homebrew.
Half-Byte Loader i think its called.

@Firelad
.1 or not, it was still a software update to a platform that has not seen a update for about what 3 years prior to that. Even if it was for the fact that it was for a psn game.Outside of that it did nothing else. Wasn’t a security update or anything because there just isn’t a reason for it.

Why don’t you say that again? 85% isn’t enough. 99% or 100% should be enough. >:c

I actually do miss PSP. Sometimes I wish I could go back to it and finish up some truly amazing codes I had either in mind or half finished. Sadly I don’t have a whole lot of free time as it is and I wouldn’t even be able to show it to anyone if I did end up finishing those codes. Plus the games I wanted to make those codes for are probably abandoned right now, wouldn’t even be able to test them.
