That clears up a lot, cheers guys.

I may try fixing this YLOD but I’m not too confident it can be. In my experience the PS3 has a far lower successful repair rate than the 360. I did actually try to fix it a couple of years ago with a reflow station but to no avail, so I don’t think this will move much further.

    • PS3 Downgrade/CFW

I know a couple of you guys have dabbled with the PS3. I have no idea what the current state of the scene is like - I don’t know what models can be modified, what software version are required, if other hardware is required to downgrade - so my question is, would somebody that knows these answers please give me a rundown?

I have a 60GB backwards compatible phat PS3 (the one I got from your mate Scuzzy, it still has YLOD and after having it for 3-4 years I’ve finally decided to fix it ). I don’t know what version it is but it’s bound to be low.

I also have a super slim, I believe that’s what it’s called anyway; the version with the sliding disk tray.

I had a quick look around and read that the super slim models cannot be modified, is this correct? Basically, if possible I’d modify the super slim, but if not I’d fix the other one and modify that.

      Cheers.

@Scuzz They have an ebook version that looks good but I’ve not been able to find a download for it anywhere.

I watched Time Crimes (if I remember correctly) from Scuzzy’s list last night, would not recommend. The concept of the movie is interesting, but poorly acted.

Cheers for the list, I’ll check some of these out and let you know which ones I liked.

Here are two great movies you should definitely watch if you haven’t seen them.

Memories of Murder - Great movie, check it out!
Oldboy - I’m sure most people have see the 2013 remake, but if you haven’t check out the original.

I’ll share mine at the end of the day.

I have an S3 and for a long while now have noticed the battery life has been pretty bad; probably because I’m running Cyanogenmod. I get a full days use out of it, but I really don’t like having to worry about battery life so always carry a spare charged battery around with me.

I thought that might be the case, that’s really cool.

So how does it know what colour to display? What/how is it reading whatever data it requires in order to determine which colour to display?

Is the colour static, as in do you have to set it yourself or does it change based on whatever colours are on the screen?
